PEOPLE AND STREETS
The project ''People and Streets'' is about the reconstruction of the visual and sound atmosphere of Saint-Petersburg. Series of photos by Dmitry Shubin present the portraits of the passers-by who are walking across the various streets in St Petersburg. Some of them are in a hurry, others are wading being lost in their thoughts.
The point of the poject is an eventuality. It is the basic way of the composition of all images and of the exposition itself. Prints of different sizes are chaotically exhibited all over the space at the lampa studio, at various heights without any traditional symmetry. The photography story is accompanied by video and the Surround Sound installation that transmits the noise of the city: a roar of the engines, footsteps, people’s voices. All sounds together create a symphony of streets.
